Glenn Kennedy

Lisbon, Ohio – Glenn R. Kennedy, 75, of Johnson Road passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at his residence at approximately 7:30 a.m. after suddenly taking ill.

Born January 7, 1938 at East Liverpool, Ohio, he was the son of the late Richard Glenn Kennedy and the late Mae Stewart Tipton. A lifetime area resident, he retired from the former McIntosh Hemphill Steel Mill in Midland, PA. He then became a Union Boilermaker, working for over twenty years at that trade.

A veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany with the Army’s Tank Corps, he was a member of the American Legion Post #374 as well as the Boilermaker’s Union.

He is survived at home by his wife, Bonnie Kennedy, whom he married October 9, 1956. He also leaves behind three sons, Mark Lee Kennedy and his wife, Lisa of Cleveland, TN, Joseph Edgar Kennedy and his wife, Melissa of Cleveland, TN, and Glenn Richard Kennedy II and his wife, Jennifer of Lisbon, OH.

There are six granddaughters, Brandy, Nicole, Rebecca, Jessica, Stephanie, and Allison; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition, he is survived by two sisters, JoAnn Atkins and her husband, Wayne, and Geneva Mae Lammers and her husband, Keith both of California.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Burial will be on the Kennedy Family Farm, where he has lived and raised his family for the past 56 years.
