DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – Bruce H. Brothers, 68, passed away peacefully on Fri., Feb. 15, 2013 at The Forum at Deercreek after a lengthy illness.
He was born Feb. 18, 1944 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of Ralph and Susan (Ranyak) Brothers.
Bruce graduated from Crestview High School in 1962.
He worked at Century Industries and Fitzpatrick’s Clothing in Columbiana, Ohio for many years.
He was instrumental in the organization of the first “Little Clipper” football league in Columbiana.
After moving to Florida, he began his career in the interior design business with Ace Interiors.
Bruce was later employed by Riva Motorsports in Pompano Beach, Fl., retiring in 2006.
He is survived by his brother, David W. Brothers (Sherri) of Columbiana, Ohio.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard “Dancy” Brothers.
Bruce had a great fondness for The Florida Keys and cherished all the time he was able to spend there creating wonderful memories with his family.
He will be fondly remembered and forever missed by his niece Belinda, two nephews, Darrel and Jay, as well as 8 great nieces and nephews.
Bruce loved, enjoyed and appreciated all his good friends at Riva Motorsports as well as friends and neighbors at “River House Terrace,” where he resided.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to all who cared for Bruce at The Forum at Deercreek and to the entire staff from Vitas Hospice.
A memorial service will take place at a later date in Columbiana, Ohio.
