LISBON – Thelma M. Roberts-Baker, 88, of Rose Drive, passed away unexpectedly at 9:45am, Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Vista Center.
Thelma was born March 15, 1924 in East Liverpool, a daughter of the late Tallmadge and Olive (House) Rohrbaugh, and had moved to Lisbon in 1938 from East Liverpool.
She worked as a packager at the former Lisbon Spring and Wire Company for 27 years.
Thelma was a member of the Lisbon Church of the Nazarene, where she served as the church secretary for 10 years, sang in the church choir, and sang in the church trio. She also loved making crafts.
Her first husband, James R. Roberts, whom she married March 27, 1945, preceded her in death January 9, 1975, her second husband, Stanley Baker, whom she married January 13, 1978, preceded her in death October 11, 1989.
She is survived by her daughter, Carrie (Walter) Burns of East Liverpool, son, James C. (Rita) Roberts of Kensington; grandchildren, Kevin Roberts of Louisville, Kurt (Tiffany) Roberts of Kensington, Connie (John) Reardon of Buford, Ga., great grandchildren, Jacob Roberts, Kati Roberts, Nathan Roberts, Jennifer (Luke) Hayduk, and Buddy Reardon; great great grandchildren, Ava and Tyler Hayduk.
She was also preceded in death by her step daughter, Gloria Gostey; brother, Frank Rohrbaugh; sisters, Dorothy Grimm and Genevieve Cunningham.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Brown of her church officiating. Private burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Summitville.
Friends may call from 11am until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
