EAST PALESTINE – Russell J. “Punzi” Henry, 88, formerly of West Street, died at 7:30 am Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Masternick Memorial Health Care.
Mr. Henry was born October 23, 1924 in East Palestine, a son of Russell S. and Beryl Elliott Henry and had lived in this area all of his life.
Punzi was a foreman for the former Ward School Bus in Darlington, Pa. and NATCO Tile Company in East Palestine, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church of East Palestine.
His wife, the former Rachel M. Harvie, whom he married July 28, 1950, died March 23, 2010.
He is survived by a daughter, Rachel L. Henry of Pace, Fla.; a son, Bruce A. (Sharon) Henry of Canfield; a sister, Nancy (Alvin) Kelley of New Springfield; a half sister, Carol (Robert) Claar of Osage, Wyo.; a brother, Edwin “Spike” (Jeri) Henry of Columbiana; a half brother, Russell (Diane) Eric of Osage, Wyo.; four grandchildren, Joshua Henry and Jacob Henry, Dawn Browne and Shannon Browne; and three great grandchildren, Elijah Browne, Chloe Browne and Amber Browne.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Henry and two brothers, Chester Henry and William Henry.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Philip Bartholomew officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
