Ona Brothers

SALINEVILLE – Ona Yvonne Brown Brothers, 82, of Spartan Road, Salineville, died early Tuesday morning at her home with her family present.

She was born April 19, 1930 in Salineville, a daughter of the later Daniel and Martha Madison Brown.

Ona lived all her life in the Salineville area, graduated from Salineville High School, married George Brothers in 1948, and was a loving wife and mother. She was Methodist by faith. Ona enjoyed reading and lived for her grandchildren.

Ona will be sadly missed by one son, Danny Brothers of Salineville; three daughters, Gail (Randy) Thompson of Carrollton, Teresa (Sam) Puckett of Salineville, Lisa (Alan) Wiley of Bergholz; two sisters, Bernice Lewis of Salineville, Darla (Randolph) Lingo of Alabama; six grandchildren, Mark Owens of Carrollton, Michele Gruszecki of Highlandtown, Nicholas Puckett of Lebanon, Ohio, Tessa, Miranda, and Joseph Wiley all of Bergholz; three great-grandchildren, Markus and Logan Owens of Carrollton and Madyson Gruszecki of Highlandtown.

Besides her parents, Ona was preceded in death by her husband, George Brothers, in 1985; three brothers, Dean Brown, Carl Brown, Harold Brown; two sisters, Sarah Finnelli and infant sister Doris Brown; and one grandson, Matthew Puckett.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, 2013 at Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home with Pastor Pat Smith of Salineville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Corinth Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Mechanicstown.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
