LISBON – Elisabeth Ann “Libby” Applegate, 43, of SR 45 passed away at 6:36 PM Friday at the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness.
Born August 1, 1969 in Salem, she was the daughter of Alyce Marye (Bohling) Applegate and the late Robert Joseph Applegate.
Libby worked at Luby’s Cafeteria in Houston, TX prior to returning to Lisbon in 2006.
A 1989 graduate of Westbury High School in Houston, TX, she was a member of the Lisbon First United Methodist Church. She loved music and as a member of the Lisbon Community Chorus, she signed White Christmas at the Christmas concert this year. She enjoyed her family, listening to the police scanner and keeping up with the weather. She was a medalist in the Special Olympics for many years.
Survivors include her mother of Lisbon; five siblings: Annie (Jerry) Toot of Lisbon, Laurie (Bill) Galloway of Magnolia, TX, Chris Doyle of Houston, TX, John (Marnie) Applegate of Allison Park, PA, and Mary (Michael) Lyberg of North Baltimore, OH; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father , her brothers Michael Reed Applegate and Michael Joseph Applegate, and grandparents Robert and Nellie Applegate and Albert and Vida Bohling.
The funeral will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Weber Funeral Home with Rev. Pamela Gable officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Food Pantry Ministry at the Lisbon First United Methodist Church .
