— Suspicious activity was reported in the area of Route 172 and Lowmiller Road at 7:53 a.m. Monday. Deputies checked the area, but did not find anyone matching the description given.
— A resident on Oakdale Avenue, Yellow Creek Township, reported at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday someone was walking around the house. Deputies checked, but were unable to locate anyone.
— A Route 45, Elkun Township, man reported Monday he tried to purchase a car on eBay Motors’ website. He provided the seller seven eBay gift cards totaling $2,650. He determined it was a scam and eBay asked him to file a police report.
— Frank W. Ketchum, 54, state Route 644, Salineville, was cited for failure to control, OVI and a seat belt violation after his Sierra struck a guardrail, spun around and ended up in a ditch on Route 644 in Franklin Township at 1:51 a.m. Saturday.
— Joseph M. Bernier, 36, Cherry Street, Homeworth, was rounding a bend on Knox School in Knox Township when his Audi TT went off the left side of the road and ended up in a ditch at 2 a.m. Sunday. Bernier left the scene and was found at home by the trooper, who noticed he had a strong odor of alcohol about him and his eyes were bloodshot and glassy looking and he was moving slowly. Bernier denied having anything to drink and refused to answer any more questions or submit to any tests to determine his sobriety. Bernier was cited for OVI based on the trooper’s observations.
— Police were called to a dispute in the Sparkle parking lot 6:36 p.m. Saturday, where a man and woman were arguing and cursing over the other parking improperly.
— A purse belonging to Taylor M. Adams, 23, of New Waterford, was found on Route 14 at 5:27 p.m. Saturday and returned.
— Theresa Cope, Fairfield Avenue, reported her purse was stolen from her car Friday night.
— Lucas E. Keck, 24, Diagonal Road, Salem, was cited for marijuana possession after a traffic stop on North Main at 6:15 p.m. Friday.
