Salem

— At 8:05 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 170 block of West State Street where male customer was irate when he couldn’t get change for a $100 bill because the complainant didn’t have enough change. The man argued with the complainant and yelled at a customer in the store. The complainant didn’t want him back and police stood by until he left the area.

— At 9:06 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue to deliver a message for the Stark County sheriff.

— Police responded to the 1300 block of East Pershing Street at 11:13 a.m. Sunday where a man suffered a knife wound after tripping down steps while carrying the knife. He was transported to the hospital.

— A complainant was on station at 12:38 p.m. Sunday, regarding a domestic dispute and statements will be forwarded to the county prosecutor.

— Police responded to the 800 block of East State Street at 2:12 p.m. Sunday where the complainant found a handgun under one of the trees in his yard. It was a realistic-looking BB gun and was brought to the station and destroyed.

— A complainant from the 100 block of Fair Avenue was on station at 3:30 p.m. Sunday and spoke with an officer about an ongoing issue.

— Police responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive for a well-being check and everything was OK.

— Police responded to the 1600 block of Ridgewood Drive at 4:25 p.m. Sunday for a sick raccoon that was in the complainant’s garage. The humane officer removed it.

— Police responded to the 2300 block of East State Street at 3:35 p.m. Sunday regarding a custody dispute and the complainant was advised of the options.

— At 6:33 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive where a medical alarm went off and firefighters responded. It was an accident however firefighters were concerned for two small children. There was an adult female there and the mother was contacted by the dispatcher and police stood by until she arrived.

— At 7:05 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street and due to a language barrier a translator was call to assist with an unknown problem. The complainant was being accused by a female in the same residence of trying to make advances toward her. The complainant was intoxicated and agreed to leave.

— Police responded to the 300 block of West Wilson Street at 7:12 p.m. Sunday regarding a juvenile problem and was advised of the options.

— Police responded to the 700 block of East Fourth Street at 7:51 p.m. Sunday, regarding a custody dispute.

— Police responded to the 400 block of Sharp Avenue where the complainant received a Facebook message from a friend in the residence who did admit to sending messages. The person was pink slipped to the hospital.

— At 9:04 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 300 block of East Fourth Street regarding a child custody dispute and several 911 calls made by the complainant because she wanted her child. When the father called she could be heard kicking the door and screaming. When an officer arrived she was uncooperative and demanded her child. The officer attempted to explain the situation several times. The father wanted the child to stay due to the time of night and school in the morning. The female left.

— At 9:28 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard for a well-being check and there was no answer.

— At 11:58 p.m. Sunday, police checked the 1600 block of Salem Parkway for a suspicious vehicle with two people in a fenced-in area of a business. Police were unable to locate anything.

Perry Township

— Police responded to Highland Creek at 11:43 p.m. Sunday for a suspicious person report and a man said his transmission went out and was waiting for a ride. A tow truck was requested when his ride came.

— At 7:04 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 1700 block of Painter Road where a homeowner found a pair of gloves and possible drugs. Police were unable to determine what the substance on the gloves was due very little residue being present. Police advised the complainant to discard the gloves for safety.

— Police responded to the 1700 block of West State Street at 3:45 p.m. Sunday in an attempt to locate a subject for the Austintown police. Police were unable to make contact with the person but were told he lives in Austintown and the information was relayed to Austintown police.

— At 12:14 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 800 block of Georgetown Road at the request of the Boardman police in attempting to locate a person. Police were unable to locate the person but did obtain their phone number and forwarded the information to Boardman police.

— Police responded to the 1100 block of Liberty Street two times after midnight Sunday and advised the homeowner to keep the noise down. Police advised what the outcome would be if police were to be called back to the residence for the same complaint and the homeowner advised he would turn off the music.

New Waterford

— At 7:40 p.m. Dec. 2, officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of West Main Street for a theft complaint. Through investigation, officers located the stolen property and arrested 54-year old Kathryn S. Burr for theft and she was transported to the Columbiana County jail.

— At 6:32 p.m. Dec. 2, officers responded to an area near state Routes 46 and 558 to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a vehicle in the ditch but the vehicle could not be located.

— At 1:15 p.m. on Dec. 4, officers responded to the areas of Dogwood Circle, Pinewood Drive, and Court Street for an animal complaint involving several horses running loose. The owners were contacted and the horses were returned.

— At 2:12 p.m. on Dec. 5, officers responded to the 46000 block of Taylor Avenue for an animal complaint involving two dogs running loose in the fields between Taylor Avenue and the rear of the Abundant Life Church. The owner was contacted and retrieved her dogs.

— At 6:13 p.m. on Nov. 24, officers responded to the 1000 block of Bacon Avenue in East Palestine for mutual aid with the East Palestine Police Department on a neighbor dispute.

— At 8:03 p.m. on Nov. 29, responded to the 46000 block of Allendale Avenue for a parking complaint. The owner of the vehicle was advised of the complaint and the vehicle was moved without incident.

Leetonia

— Police responded to the 200 block of Walnut Street at 11:37 p.m. Sunday for a medical call and upon arrival the person said one of her children pressed the medical alert button and she tried to cancel it and that everything was OK.

— At 4:28 p.m. Dec. 4, police on station received a fraud complaint from a resident in the 100 block of Madison Street regarding his locked computer that didn’t allow him to open it. He received a message stating he had to pay an amount of money to unlock his computer. He paid $5,000 to unlock it and then stated they requested more money from him but he was unwilling to pay. He was advised to not allow access to any of his information and was provided with a number to Ohio Valley Technicians for assistance.

— At 9:01 p.m. Dec. 7, police responded to the high school in reference to juveniles driving to the football field. Police were unable to locate anyone or any vehicles.

— At 2:56 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the 100 block of Lisbon Street regarding a hit skip accident and were unable to collect information and the afternoon shift will follow up.

— At 8:56 a.m. Monday, police responded to the 300 block of Columbia Street in reference to people screaming at each other behind the house. Police spoke with a Cortland resident who was at the residence to take a student to school who was refusing to go and ended up throwing his book bag at the windshield causing it to break in the center. The student was gone when police arrived and neither the complainant nor the vehicle owner wanted to press charges against him. The youth was located walking on the sidewalk and his left hand was bleeding from a cut received during the argument. He refused treatment and advised he would go to school now and was advised anymore actions such as occurred today and he would be charged.

Goshen Police District

— Logan R. Frantz, 17, Duck Creek Road, Salem, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash on Seacrist Round just south of West Pine Lake Road at 3:40 p.m. Dec. 6 in which he was southbound and lost control of his pickup after crossing over a bridge, traveling off the right side of the roadway and striking several trees before coming to rest facing west against a tree. Frantz was transported by Damascus EMS to Akron Children’s Hospital in Boardman for non-life-threatening injuries. A 17-year-old passenger was transported by Damascus EMS to the Salem Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries while a 16-year-old passenger was transported by another source to Akron Children’s Hospital in Boardman for non-life-threatening injuries.
