Highway Patrol

— Corey J. Parrish, 21, Boyd Road, Wellsville, was westbound on U.S. Route 62 in Smith Township approaching the intersection of 12th Street when Lee W. Wyss, 82, East Vermont Avenue, Sebring, pulled out from the stop sign in front of Parrish and was struck. Wyss was cited with failure to yield and was taken by Sebring EMS to Aultman Hospital with possible injuries. Neither Parrish nor his 16-year-old passenger were injured.

County Sheriff

— Deputies responded to North Georgetown Road, North Georgetown, at 6:36 p.m. Thursday after Chad V. Lang Jr. took his girlfriend’s handgun and told her he was going to kill himself. After a short standoff, Lang came out of the house and was transported by ambulance to Alliance Community Hospital for an evaluation. All guns in the home were seized by the sheriff’s office for safe keeping.

— An overdose was reported at 10:29 p.m. Friday at a Union Street, Washingtonville, home. Green Township EMS was pulling away as deputies arrived, transporting Jamie Pastore, 31, to the Salem Regional Medical Center. They had used Narcan to revive him, but he denied using any drugs. The family did not see anything laying around where Pastore had been, but did state he has a past history of drug use.

— Robert Jay Lutman, Leetonia Road, Salem, reported at 3:58 p.m. Friday he was assaulted by William Seth McMillan at the house of Randy Newberry, Morris Road, in Elkrun Township. An assault citation warrant was issued for McMillan.

— Kay Helschel, Leetonia Road, Salem Township, reported at 5:54 p.m. Thursday someone stole her Boston terrier/bulldog mixed dog from her yard.

— A Peace Valley Road, Middleton Township, woman reported at 6:28 p.m. Friday her neighbors’ chickens are always on her property and defecating in the yard. She had called before. The neighbors’ dogs run loose on her property also and deputies suggested she call the dog warden about that issue.

— Renee Garlock, South Street, Homeworth, reported at 7:10 p.m. Friday when her son came home there was a vehicle following him and it stopped at the end of the driveway with someone inside yelling at her son. Garlock said her husband went down to the vehicle to see what was happening and the man started yelling at him about his son passing him earlier. Her husband then noticed two open cans of beer and the man appeared to be intoxicated. The vehicle, a black Chrysler 300, left and Garlock gave deputies the license plate number.

— Steffanie L. Brickner, 34, state Route 7, Madison Township, reported her live-in roommate, Shawn J. Keyes, assaulted her. A warrant was issued charging Keyes with domestic violence.

— James Lyens, Madison Street, Salineville, reported at 5:47 p.m. Friday he will soon have ownership of a vehicle parked at a Haiti Road residence, but the person who lives there will not let him come get the vehicle. Lyens was told to contact an attorney.

Columbiana

— A 15-year-old was cited with a curfew violation, drug paraphernalia and obstructing official business at 3:51 a.m. Saturday, after he was found near Heck’s Restaurant and gave police a false date of birth.

— Trevor Young told a shift manager at Dairy Queen he struck the drive-thru sign at 5:38 p.m Saturday and provided them with his information. The Dairy Queen owner wanted a report taken.

— K-9 Csuti was deployed for a vehicle sniff on traffic stop at 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

East Palestine

— Lisbon police requested at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, police check a home on Bacon Avenue for a vehicle, which had been stolen in Lisbon earlier in the evening. Police checked the home numerous times throughout the night, but did not find the vehicle nor the person suspected in taking it.

— A woman reported at 12:28 p.m. Thursday her daughter left school without permission and when her friend attempted to pick up the child, she fled on foot from the area. Then the girl came home with another girl, but was being unruly and disobedient. Police suggested the mother contact the juvenile court.

— At 5:04 a.m. Friday police found a multi-colored, medium-sized dog, on North Market Street they recognized as belonging to Kayla Kristine Bowyer. Police transported the dog back to Bowyer’s home on North Pleasant Drive and she will be cited with dogs running at large.

— A Park Avenue resident reported at 12:15 p.m. Friday her downstairs neighbor’s mail was in her mailbox on Friday and she did not want to give it to her, because they do not get along. Police attempted to deliver the mail, which was from the clerk of courts office, but she did not answer, so it was placed in her mailbox lying on the porch.

— Katie Jo Eaton, East Taggart Street, reported a domestic violence incident at 3:50 p.m. Friday. Eaton reported she was assaulted by the father of her son. She declined to press charges, but she wanted him to stay away. Police attempted to contact him, but were unable to do so.

— At 4:22 p.m. Friday someone reported children were left home alone at a West Taggart Street home. Police found the children, who were both old enough to be home alone. They said their mother had just left a short time ago and would be home in a few minutes.

— An East Main Street woman reported at 10:37 p.m. Friday her daughter was unruly and ran away. The report will be sent to juvenile court.

— High weed violation notices were sent Saturday to Big Dogs Bar and Grille, North Market Street; a foreclosure property at 973 W. Main St.; a home on at 124 S. Pleasant Dr.; a foreclosure property at 297 W. Clark St.; the owner of 540 E. Martin St.; and the owner of 614 Alice St. The foreclosure properties will be turned over to the city so they can be mowed and billed.

— Erica Estelle Morrow reported at 12:08 p.m. Saturday, Morgan Harvey harassed and threatened her while she was at a flag football game at the high school. Police spoke to both parties and told them to either get along or they may be banned from school property.

— At 9:45 p.m. Saturday, K-9 Toney positively indicated to drugs in a vehicle stopped by police in the Circle K parking lot. Both suspected meth and marijuana were discovered. The drugs will be sent to the lab and the matter is under investigation.

— At 9:53 p.m. Saturday both police and the fire department responded to the intersection of West Rebecca Street and North Walnut Street where a vehicle reportedly struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian was not injured.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Park at 6:32 a.m. Saturday in reference to a suspicious person, but could not find anyone.

— Officers responded to the library at 8:44 a.m. Saturday where someone turned over a suspicious item. The item was disposed of.

— An East State resident reported Saturday he had lost his phone at Reilly Stadium the previous day and the locator app showed in an area of Perry Township. He was advised to contact that department.

— Officers responded to a 1300 block Carole Drive home at 12:23 p.m. Saturday in reference to a possible burglary and found an open door but no one inside. The complainant said he did not believe anyone had been living there for a while.

— Officers responded to a 400 block South Broadway home at 12:46 p.m. Saturday where an East Rochester resident reported someone had entered the home without her knowledge or permission.

— Officers responded to a 1000 block Buckeye Avenue home at 1:42 p.m. Saturday where a woman reported her sister-in-law had been throwing items around the house, striking the complainant’s father with a flower pot. Medical personnel responded, but the father refused treatment. There were no signs of violence and the sister-in-law had already left. Officers returned at 3:08 p.m. the same day in reference to a domestic dispute and found a man and woman had been a verbal dispute. They were advised to stay away from each the rest of the day.

— Officers responded to an 800 block North Ellsworth Avenue home at 3:44 p.m. Saturday where the resident reported someone may have entered the home without his knowledge or permission.

— Officers responded to Centennial Park at 4:01 p.m. Saturday where an employee and witnesses said a group of people had vandalized the women’s restroom and damaged a picnic table in one of the pavilions. Officers found a group of juveniles that matched the description of the witnesses, but were unable to determine who had caused the damage because no one had seen it happen.

— An officer responded to a 200 block East Fourth home at 5:15 p.m. Saturday to stand by while firefighters spoke with a resident about a fire.

— A New Middletown resident reported at 7:06 p.m. Saturday that she recently separated from her husband and he would not let her see their son. She was advised to contact an attorney. An officer contacted the husband who said their son was fine.

— An officer responded to a 300 block Newgarden Avenue home at 7:39 p.m. Saturday where the resident said someone had damaged her bedroom door.

— Juan P. Perez, 21, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was cited for no license and improper turn after a traffic stop in the 400 block of Reilly Avenue at 8:10 p.m. Saturday.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Reilly Avenue at 8:46 p.m. Saturday in reference to a group of juveniles running in the street and using profanities. Offices spoke with the juveniles and advised them to go home.

— Officers responded to a 900 block South Lundy home at 9:42 p.m. Saturday in reference to a medical assist and stood by until the female victim was transported to the Salem hospital.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Prospect Street at 10:25 p.m. Saturday in reference to intoxicated persons possibly destroying property. The officers found the group of people sitting outside their residence not harming anything

Salem

— The fire department responded to a 500 block East Pershing Street business at 11:48 a.m. Sunday in reference to a fire alarm. Nothing wrong was found and the system was rest.
