FIRE CALLS

West Point

— Firefighters and EMS were called to a possible overdose at a home on Liverpool Road at 8:43 a.m. Sunday.

— The county sheriff’s office requested at 12:56 a.m. Saturday firefighters stage in the area of 12141 Steubenville Pike for a report that an unknown man walked into a home and began screaming and throwing things and he was possibly under the influence of an unknown substance.

Salem

— Firefighters were called at 6:36 p.m. Saturday to a residence in the 800 block of East Fourth Street for a carbon monoxide detector going off. No carbon monoxide was detected in the residence with a meter, but the resident’s carbon monoxide detector was flashing Lb for low battery. The battery was removed and the resident was told to replace it. It was explained that she would continue to hear a chirp until the battery is replaced. It was also explained that if the detector sounds constantly, it is an actual carbon monoxide alert and to call the fire department immediately.
