FIRE CALLS
Salem
— Firefighters returning from a medical call at 4:16 p.m. Thursday observed an illegal cookout in the 200 block of West Seventh Street. The resident was advised of the open burning laws and told to extinguish it.
— Firefighters responded to Dunkin’ Donuts, 885 W. State St., after receiving a call at 8:21 a.m. Saturday for a strong odor of natural gas in the parking lot. Columbia Gas was contacted. Firefighters were unable to locate the odor, but waited for Columbia Gas to arrive, then left.
— A fire alarm was reported at 5:54 a.m. Saturday at Salem Regional Medical Center, 1995 E. State St., the same as earlier in the night. No odors were found and the system was reset, with maintenance called in.
