County Sheriff

— Henry Robinson, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 2:10 p.m. Thursday his roommate, Tom Macalino, was evicted a few days earlier and while Robinson was at a friend’s house nearby, he saw a black Jeep pulling out of his driveway. His 32-inch LG TV was missing.

— Brianna Green, Oakdale Avenue, Wellsville, reported a domestic dispute regarding custody at 7:33 p.m. Thursday. Deputies went to a home on state Route 45 to talk to the child’s father, Lester Lovett Jr. Both Green and Lovett signed a refusal to prosecute. The child was turned over to the mother and deputies explained to the father what he needed to do to get custody or visitation.

Salem

— Police responded to the 700 block of Superior Avenue at 3:20 p.m. Thursday regarding a 911 hang-up call and the individual said everything was OK.

— At 4:42 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1800 block of North Ellsworth Avenue for a report of a hit-skip accident where a vehicle of an unknown make and registration struck a mailbox destroying it. The owner was given a report number.

— At 4:49 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 700 block of North Ellsworth Avenue for a report of debris in the road and were unable to locate anything.

— Police responded to the area of South Lincoln Avenue and Snyder Road at 5:59 p.m. and assisted Perry Township police with the K-9 on a traffic stop. The dog indicated positive and marijuana was recovered from the vehicle. Jakob D. Bell, 29150 Campbell Road, Hanoverton, was arrested and police stood by.

— Police responded to Leetonia with the K-9 for a traffic stop and there was a positive hit. A search did not turn up any narcotics and a passenger was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

— At 7:25 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 300 block of South Ellsworth Avenue for a 911 hang-up call and the people in the area said everything was OK.

— At 7:35 p.m. Thursday, police responded to Centennial Park for a report of a juvenile on the roof of the bathrooms. A small juvenile was climbing down from the side of the roof and he was advised of his error in judgment and potential for injury. He was also advised to remove his bike from inside the tennis court fence where it was posted no bikes or skateboards are allowed.

— Police responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 8:31 p.m Thursday where man reported his wallet was stolen while he went inside a business and left his items in a bag outside. Police learned a person had posted on social media the victims wallet was found and police contacted that person who brought the wallet into the police station and made a written statement. The owner picked it up and the business surveillance video will be reviewed.

— At 8:36 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 400 block of Continental Drive and attempted to serve an outstanding warrant from the Columbiana County sheriff. Police were unable to locate the man.

— Police responded to the 500 block of East Third Street at 10:35 p.m. Thursday where a resident was warned about an unattended fire and extinguished it.

— Police responded to the Continental Drive and Bentley Road area for a report of an unresponsive man lying in the parking lot of Laurel Court Apartments. He was found to be responsive and taken to the hospital.

— At 10:47 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 500 block of East Third Street where a parent advised their juvenile son had not returned home. Police observed the juvenile minutes prior to responding as he was entering the back of a residence in the 500 block of East Third Street. He departed and the parent was advised to file a runaway juvenile complaint if he failed to return home.

— At 10:55 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue where the complainant’s young child found a capsule with an unknown substance inside. The item was properly disposed of and the complainant was advised to keep a close eye on the child due to him picking the item up.

— At 11:29 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1600 block of Southeast Boulevard for a possible waterline break. Police located a stream of water from a garage. It was hot water heater tank that ruptured and the water was turned off.

— Police responded to the 800 block of East Fifth Street at 12:50 a.m. where Diovanny Duran, 893 E. 5th St., was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for domestic violence and transported to the county jail.

— At 1:42 a.m. Friday, police received a phone call on station regarding a landlord tenant dispute. They were advised of the options.

Leetonia

— Police stopped a vehicle for expired plates at 9:20 p.m. Thursday and Taylor West of Columbiana was found to be driving under suspension and was cited for the offense.

— At 6:20 p.m. Thursday, police made a traffic stop in the 300 block of Main Street and a passenger in the vehicle, Steven L. Nelder, was found to have a warrant through Columbiana County and was arrested. The Salem Police Department’s K9 unit was called for assistance which resulted in a positive hit on the vehicle. Officers seized evidence which will be sent to the laboratory for further testing.
