Salem

— A husband and wife both ended up in jail Monday, with Jessica Kislingbury, 35, of 969 W. Wilson St., charged with domestic violence for allegedly assaulting her husband and William Kislingbury, 23, of the same address, charged with theft several hours later for allegedly stealing an alcoholic beverage from Giant Eagle. Police had been called to their residence in the morning for a verbal dispute that turned physica. At 3:45 p.m., police were called to Giant Eagle for an alleged shoplifter who took a bottle of Parrot Bay. William was found on Pershing near Madison and the bottle was found on South Madison Jessica’s three children were released to a relative.

— A resident in the 200 block of North Ellsworth reported at 8:14 a.m. Monday that someone broke into his garage and stole numerous coins.

— Police responded to the area of Sixth Street and Hawley for a report at 7:43 a.m. Monday of a male in a black hoodie and black shorts looking into parked cars. Officers found him at the high school and he was advised against looking into people’s cars.

— A clerk at Smith Oil on East State Street reported at 7:29 a.m. Monday that someone driving a black Toyota station wagon left without paying for $12.41 worth of gasoline. The vehicle was not found.

— Police checked on an occupied vehicle in the Wendy’s parking lot at 1:35 a.m. Monday. The female driver said she pulled into the lot to answer some text messages she received.

— An intoxicated driver was reported at 1 a.m. Monday in the area of State and Lincoln. An officer located the vehicle and followed it, pulling it over after the vehicle went over the center line. The driver was not intoxicated and was given a warning for failure to drive in marked lanes.

— Brent Banister, 26, of Teegarden Road, Hanoverton, was cited for failure to reinstate, expired plates and reckless operation on private property after a traffic stop in the alley behind AutoZone on West State at 12:23 a.m. Monday. An officer had seen the vehicle being operated recklessly and fishtailing multiple times in the parking lot. Banister did not have a valid driver’s license.

— An officer at 11:50 p.m. Sunday saw a vehicle parked in the Suburban Market parking lot with no license plates. The vehicle did not come back as stolen but was logged by the dispatcher.

— Police responded to the old car wash on Arch Street at 11:40 p.m. Sunday regarding a male and a canine stranded there due to heavy rain. Police made contact with the man who declined a ride and said he would wait for the rain to slow down.

— Police responded to the 300 block of North Broadway for a storm damage report at 9:35 p.m. Sunday when a large tree branch fell on a woman’s vehicle. She was told her options.

— Police were called at 9:33 p.m. Sunday for a report of drug paraphernalia in the 600 block of Cherry Street where a woman said her 12-year-old granddaughter was walking outside in an area and stepped on a hypodermic needle. An officer spoke with the juvenile and attempted to locate the needle, but was unable to find it. The juvenile had cut the bottom of her foot and advised it was feeling numb. The girl was taken to SRMC.

— A resident on Southeast Boulevard called at 9:11 p.m. Sunday to report being harassed by a person on social media and text messages.

— A officer responded along with first responders and EMT at 8:56 p.m. Sunday for a boy having a medical emergency. He was taken to the hospital.

— Police were called at 8:02 p.m. Sunday for an intoxicated male after a resident on North Ellsworth called. Police made contact just as his granddaughter arrived. She said she would take him into the house for the evening.

— Xya Taylor, 22, of 11590 Western Reserve Road, was cited for possession of marijuana after police were called to a parking lot behind Coaches Burgers at 7:32 p.m. Sunday for possible drug activity inside a vehicle. Three occupants in the vehicle were identified and K-9 Argo was deployed and did alert to a presence of a narcotic odor. During a search of one of the occupants, a small baggie of suspected pot and rolling papers were found.

— An intoxicated person was reported acting disorderly in the 500 block of Walnut at 7:21 p.m. Sunday. Police spoke with a man who said a female was intoxicated and using vulgar language toward him. She was told to quit it.

— A phone found behind Giant Eagle was turned over at 6:32 p.m. Sunday.

— A debit card found at the hospital was turned over at 4:11 p.m. Sunday.

Perry Township

— Police located three suspicious vehicles on Pine Lake Road at Egypt Road at 2:06 a.m. Monday. The people said they were fixing a door on one of the vehicles. They were advised of the no trespassing signs posted and left without incident.

— Police responded at 1:44 a.m. Monday for a report of a tree in the road. Green Township Fire Department was on scene and removed the tree before police arrived.

— A caller at 11:17 p.m. Saturday reported a vehicle on the side of the road with no taillights in the area of state Route 45 and U.S. Route 62. Before police arrived, the vehicle was moved.

— A West Pidgeon Road property owner called police at 3:41 a.m. Saturday to report suspicious activity in his back yard. He heard his grill being moved and when he checked, it had been moved from the patio onto the lawn. Police searched the area, but were unable to locate anyone.

— An officer responded at 7:45 p.m. Friday to the 1800 block of state Route 344 for a target shooting complaint. It was determined the people who were shooting were doing so in a safe manner.

— April Stoll, 32, of Lisbon, was cited for assured clear distance after rear-ending a vehicle driven by Trevor Edward, 20, of Pennsylvania, who was slowing down for a stopped refuse truck in the 400 block of West Pidgeon Road at 9:47 a.m. Friday. No injuries were reported.

Salem

— Firefighters responded to both a business and a residential property to pump out water. The first call came at 11:50 p.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of Beechwood Road to assist with a flooded basement. The second call came at 12:44 p.m. Monday to respond to Ventra, 800 Pennsylvania Ave., to pump water from the loading dock.
