LISBON — The Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce and the Lisbon Landmark Foundation will hold their annual “Wine About Winter” from 2-5 p.m. Saturday in the downtown.

Proceeds from the wine tasting will go toward restoring buildings in Lisbon’s historical center.

“Please consider joining us this Saturday for our annual “Wine About Winter,” said Lisbon Landmark Foundation president Barb DeCort said in a press release. “Help us as we work to preserve and promote Lisbon, and have some fun too!”

Eight area businesses or organizations — Dashing Divas, Geronimo’s Hardware, Sandy and Beaver Insurance, Stigmata Tattoo and Piercing, Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce, the Columbiana County Democratic Party, N2 and Serenity’s Way — will host mini wine-tasting stations.

Four other businesses — Tails of the Town, the Columbiana County Republican Party, Bye & Bye Hardware and Frontiers Unlimited — will offer coffee, soft drinks, cider and food.

“Participants will have the opportunity to taste eight great local wines and they’ll also have a chance to see what downtown Lisbon has to offer,” Chamber of Commerce president Susan Shank said. “We’re also holding a Chinese auction and wine pull.”

Tickets are available for a $10 donation and are available at the Chamber of Commerce office at 120 N. Market St. the day of the event. Doors open at 2 p.m.

“All of the wine tasting stations are within easy walking distance,” said event organizer Peter Wilson. “We’ve added several new wineries this year so it should be fun.”

The first 50 participants through the door will receive a free souvenir wine glass made by Alterations by the Clothing Surgeon, and the first 80 will receive an apple wine charm.
