Former magistrate joins prosecutor’s office
LISBON — Katelyn Dickey has joined the office of Columbiana County Prosecutor Robert Herron as an assistant prosecutor.
Herron on Thursday announced Dickey joined the prosecutor’s office effective Jan. 1, which was when her service as a magistrate for the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court ended.
In her new position, Dickey will prosecute criminal cases and represent the state and the city of East Liverpool in cases in East Liverpool Municipal Court.
“I grew up in Columbiana County and am raising my family in this great community,” Dickey said in a press statement. “I’m honored to continue working for the people of Columbiana County and look forward to working as a prosecutor to help keep our community safe.”
Dickey’s experience includes serving as the magistrate, where she handled primarily domestic relations matters. Prior to her time serving on the bench, Dickey served as staff legal counsel for the Common Pleas Court General Division for more than seven years. In that role she worked hand-in-hand with the judges on countless civil, criminal, administrative appeals and domestic relations cases, according to Herron.
She also directed the court’s foreclosure mediation program, which assisted homeowners who were trying to save their home after the lender filed a foreclosure action with the court.
