Christmas concert set Sunday

Under the Dome will present its final concert of the year, A Classical Christmas with the Stambaugh Chorus, at the First Presbyterian Church in Columbiana at 6 p.m. Sunday. The concert is free. Soloist Ava Wilson will also perform. Founded in 1952 as the Youngstown Symphony Chorus, the 70-member choral ensemble partnered with Stambaugh Auditorium in 2007. Over the last decade, under the direction of Dr. Hae-Jong Lee, the Stambaugh Chorus has emerged as the Mahoning Valley’s premier choral association with a commitment to promoting choral arts throughout the greater Youngstown area. Lee will lead the chorus through a program including works by J.S. Bach, Karl Jenkins and Leonard Cohen. Highlights will include excerpts from Jenkins’ Gloria, the Hallelujah Chorus and traditional carols including O Holy Night. Organist and pianist Kathryn Miller will provide accompaniment. Under the Dome concerts are sponsored by First Presbyterian Church, Columbiana and the Columbiana Community Foundation.
