Leading the parade

The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce is ready to bring the 17th annual Columbiana Christmas Parade to the community on Friday. Festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the town square with caroling by cast members of Crown Theater Production, followed by the town tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. and the parade at 6:30 p.m. There will be free hot chocolate, cookies and food throughout town during the evening. Merchants will offer extended hours for holiday shopping. A nativity petting zoo will take place at the First Presbyterian Church following the parade, as well as a free family movie at Main Street Theater. Grace Church will be open at the end of the parade route for warming up and as a place for parents to meet up with the children who participated in the parade. The Joy of Christmas Light Show at Firestone Park will open following the parade. The light show will be open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6-9 p.m. until Dec. 26.
