Joy of Christmas light show readied

COLUMBIANA — The annual Joy of Christmas light display organized by the Columbiana Area Tourism Bureau will begin on Nov. 16.

The drive-through holiday light display opening night will begin at 6 p.m. at the Harvey S. Firestone Park located at 338 E. Park Ave. in Columbiana.

The festivities will feature the annual Light-Up ceremony on the Square at 6 p.m. that will include Christmas caroling by Crown Theater Productions, and the annual Christmas parade along Main Street will follow at 6:30 p.m.

The Joy of Christmas light display at the park will open at 7 p.m.

The light display will be open to the public from 6-9 p.m. Nov. 16-18, 22-25, and 29-30, and December 1-2, 6-9, and 13-26.

The chamber is requesting a donation of $10 per vehicle and $2 per person on motorcoach. Donations support the Firestone Park restoration efforts.

In addition to the light displays, guests are encouraged to stop at the Gingerbread House and Santa’s Ice Castle to enjoy Christmas cookies, hot chocolate and food (for purchase). There will also be an opportunity for pictures with Santa in the Ice Castle (for purchase.)

Other activities inside the Gingerbread House will include crafts and face-painting, a collection of more than 100 decorated gingerbread houses, coloring contest, live holiday music and more.

The event also features designated nights for senior citizens and children with special needs.
