Deputy’s job filled, 2 more remain open

LISBON — Columbiana County Sheriff Ray Stone hired a Liverpool Township police to replace a deputy who recently quit.

Stone said Kevin Walker started Oct. 8, replacing deputy Jon Price, who quit Sept. 30 to take a job with the East Cleveland Police Department. Walker had been a full-time officer with Liverpool Township.

Stone said he is still interviewing applicants to replace two road patrol deputies who were assigned this fall to serve as full-time school security officers at United Local and the county Career and Technical Center.

Their positions were funded with money provided by the county Department of Job and Family Services, and that is why the sheriff is able to fill their road patrol slots.
