Lisbon area man injured by falling tree

LISBON — An Elkrun Township man injured while cutting down a tree Sunday afternoon was flown by helicopter to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman for treatment.

Lisbon Fire Department Capt. Mark Hall said they received a call about 5:45 p.m. that a man at 41849 state Route 517 was injured while cutting a tree down on his property. Hall said the tree reportedly fell on the man he was only able to identify as Dan. A check of the county auditor’s website lists the property owner by Daniel C. Patton, 56.

Hall said the man suffered injuries to his legs and arms but he was conscious and coherent. An ambulance arrived to treat the man and transport him to the helicopter landing zone set up on his neighbor’s property.
