Raising funds for Thompson Park
EAST LIVERPOOL — A series of vendor and craft shows has been planned to benefit Thompson Park while also highlighting local businesses, with the first one scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Upper Circle of the park.
Promoter of the events, Trista Slater, said the idea behind them is to get exposure for the park, raising funds for it, and to help get exposure for the small businesses and crafters of the area who are expected to showcase their wares.
Slater said more than 50 vendors are registered for this weekend’s show, selling such items as jewelry, body products, wood crafts, direct sales and more, with Fresh on Fifth providing food and another food concession possibly setting up.
All proceeds from the $25 per booth space will be donated to the park, as well as all proceeds from a Chinese auction and a 50-50 drawing, according to Slater.
Other craft and vendor shows benefiting the park are planned on Aug. 26, Sept. 8 and Oct. 6.
