Principal appointed at United

HANOVERTON–The United school board Monday night hired a new elementary principal.

The board promoted Paul Andy Trotter from elementary assistant principal to elementary principal effective Aug. 1. He is replacing Tina Hughes who is retiring.

The board also transferred Frank Baker from high school assistant principal to elementary assistant principal effective Aug. 1 and hired Todd Huda as high school assistant principal effective Aug. 1.

Huda has been the athletic director with the Salem City School District the past few years and will be paid approximately $75,000 annually. The salaries for Trotter and Baker will not be determined until negotiations with OAPSE are complete.

In other business, the board hired Joseph Schreffler of Leetonia as custodian and granted supplemental contracts for the 2018-2019 school year to Danielle Burch for National Honor Society, Heather Cooper for elementary art, Ann Cooper for head resident educator, Matthew Fowler for yearbook adviser, Megan Gozelanczyk for junior high academic challenge, Dennis Klaustermeyer for technical adviser, Susan Laughlin for community education coordinator, Kathy Matthews for high school art, Noleen Moore for volunteer coordinator,

Matthew Mowery for TV studio adviser, Samantha Muniz for senior class adviser, Cindy Neiswanger for high school choir director, Cindy Neiswanger for junior high school choir director, Cindy Neiswanger for play adviser, Lorraine Raymond for High School SAP Coordinator, Karrie Varagliotti for elementary student council adviser, Denise Ward for newspaper adviser, Betty Whiteleather for Community Outreach, Betty Whiteleather for freshman class adviser, Betty Whiteleather for junior class adviser, Betty Whiteleather for Ruri-teen Club adviser, Betty Whiteleather for sophomore class adviser and Betty Whiteleather for student council adviser.

The board also approved a contract with Ricoh USA for 20 printers at a cost of $383 per month for 60 months.
