Wellsville losing treasurer

WELLSVILLE — With “regrets and best wishes,” the school board accepted the resignation of district Treasurer Eva Elliott during a special meeting Wednesday.

Elliott has been with the district for three years and is resigning to accept a new position in the southern portion of Ohio, with her resignation effective July 1.

Board members and Superintendent Richard Bereschik complimented Elliott on her work for the district, with Bereschik noting she has had clean audits during her employment.

After voting to accept Elliott’s resignation, board members convened in executive session to discuss employment of a public employee or official, indicating the discussion would center on hiring a replacement for the treasurer, with no action to be taken afterward.
