Rabies vaccine baits will be set
The U.S. Department of Agriculture will distribute Oral Rabies Vaccine baits May 19 through May 24 in the western part of Columbiana County. The county Health Department is offering a raccoon drop off location, for non-human exposures, such as a sick anima, fresh road kill and nuisance animals. These specimens must be humanely killed without damaging the skull and tissue must be fresh. All specimens will be handled using water-repellent gloves and double bagged. Specimens can be submitted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the health department.
