DKG recognition
Kathryn Spillman, of the Alpha Iota chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma (DKG), was recently recognized as an outstanding member of the Tri-County DKG area. The award was based on Spillman’s teaching career, participation in DKG at all levels as well as her church and community activities. A former third grade teacher at Crestview Local Schools, she became Crestview Elementary’s first librarian. After a 25-year teaching career, Spillman retired in 1988 at the age of 73. Now 102, she is the Alpha Iota’s oldest, treasured and respected member.
