South Range welcomes two to school board
BEAVER TOWNSHIP — Two new members joined the South Range school board Thursday night.
Taylor Christian and Terri Lally were sworn in with incumbent Ralph Wince prior to the board’s organizational meeting. The board then elected Corey Yoakam as president and Amy White as vice president.
At its regular meeting, the board accepted the retirement effective June 1 of food service employee Mary Ann Lenyk, who has been with the district for 10 years, and the resignation of Natalie Nemenz-Keenan as assistant high school cheerleading advisor.
The board also approved an agreement to participate in the Columbiana County Education Service Center’s Project Inspire which provides STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) curriculum.
Also at the meeting, schools Superintendent Dennis Dunham, on behalf of the administration, staff, students and community honored the board in recognition of School Board Appreciation Month.
The board will continue to meet at 7 p.m. the third Monday of each month in the high school band room.
The next regular board meeting has been changed to 7 p.m. Feb. 12 in the high school band room.
