Car barn collapse
A portion of the car barn on Pennsylvania Avenue in East Liverpool collapsed Thursday, as shown in this photo supplied by Service-Safety Director Brian Allen. He said this area once was used to store garbage trucks but currently just contained an old truck and some ladders. This part of the structure was slated for tear-down as part of a plan being devised by new deputy SSD Rick Rudibaugh to continue using some of the building, Allen said. Previously, plans called for selling the building and moving all street and refuse operations to a portion of the former Riverview Florist property, but he said the new plan calls for that to be used just for material and salt storage. Rudibaugh is preparing the plan to present to city council.
