Salineville woman charged during Toronto drug raid

TORONTO — Three people were arrested Wednesday morning following a drug raid at a residence at 147 Rosewood St., City Police reported.

Police Chief Randy Henry said the department had received a large number of complaints about people going in and out of the home. The raid around 8 a.m. on Wednesday came after controlled drug buys at the home, he said.

The Jefferson County Drug Task Force and the sheriff’s department assisted in the investigation.

Henry said information was received that the alleged drug dealers were leaving at 9 a.m. on Wednesday to go to Youngstown to purchase drugs.

Javon Wesley, 22, Youngstown was charged with possession of drugs and drug trafficking. Christopher Toy, 30, 147 Rosewood St., Toronto, was charged with two counts of drug trafficking. Abby Pierson, 23, of Salineville was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Wesley was released from prison in January after serving a sentence on burglary and drug possession charges out of Mahoning County, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. Henry said Wesley is currently on parole.

Henry said $878 in cash, about a dozen cell phones, drug paraphernalia and scales, suspected fentanyl and hypodermic needles were seized during the raid.
