Tickets at $1 or six for $5 are available at the Chamber of Commerce office. Tickets also will be sold during the festival at the old train station, located next to the bike trail on South Market Street, which will hold the quilt show. Admission to the show is free.

Paper shredding offered in EP

The East Palestine Library will host a free paper shredding event from 10:00 a.m. to noon Saturday in the library’s rear parking lot. Participants may bring up to five standard boxes or trash bags of personal documents to be shredded on site by Protect-N-Shred, Cortland. Items must be paper only; no cardboard, newspapers or plastic. For more information call the library at 426-3778.

Breakfast to be served at BCSP

The Friends of Beaver Creek will hold a pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday in the Sam Shaffer barn. The breakfast is by donation with all proceeds going to the upkeep of village buildings. A Chinese auction will be held to raise funds for the relocation of an 1860s log house that was donated to Pioneer Village with reconstruction starting in the spring of 2018. Department 70 will gather

Former REM-CNU-Titanium and VMP (Department 70) employees will hold the annual reunion at 6 p.m. Sept. 23 at Adrian’s in Calcutta. Everyone is asked to notify other employees as all addresses are not available. Reservations must be made by Sept. 20 to Bob Chapman at 426-4234.

Dyke will be closed on Tuesday

Middleton Township will install a new culvert pipe from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19 on Dyke Road, west of the dam at Lake Tomahawk. The road will be closed during the installation. Work is expected to take one day, depending on the weather conditions.

Beaver Local yearbooks available

Beaver Local High School 2017 graduates can pick up their pre-ordered yearbooks Thursday and Friday in the main office. Those who did not order a yearbook may purchase them for $65 each on Friday during lunch in the cafeteria or the main office.
