Over the hill

A Family Dollar semi box trailer teetered precariously on a hillside in Lisbon Thursday night, after the driver reportedly turned onto a closed street and got stuck trying to turn around. According to Lisbon police, Hector R. Alcauter, 47, of Cincinnati had turned north onto Beaver Street when he found the street was closed and turned left onto West Chestnut Street. Alcauter attempted to turn around on West Chestnut backing into the grass and not realizing the ground was not flat until it was to late. The trailer was on a steep drop off and pulled the back driver’s side wheels of the cab completely off the ground as it began to tip over. The landing gear dug into the grass and stopped the trailer from turning over. According to Lisbon Patrolman Brian Deack, Alcauter was cited for driving off state routes. Geary’s Towing in Leetonia was notified and pulled the semi tractor trailer up the hill back onto West Chestnut Street.
