The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio has scheduled a public hearing to gather input on a request to exempt school buses and motor vehicles transporting certain hazardous materials from the requirement to stop at a railroad crossing located on Jefferson County Road 75. The hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Monday at John Gregg Elementary, 212 county Road 75A, Bergholz. County Engineer James Branagan filed for the exemption because the rail line is no longer used and is overgrown with vegetation. The crossing is located 1.75 miles from East Springfield.
