COLUMBIANA — The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce held a red ribbon cutting ceremony last week at Energy Optimism LLC.

The company, which is owned and operated by four brothers who grew up in the area, sees continued growth in the solar energy market.

“Solar energy systems are now mainstream power sources in the United States,” said company owner Charles Hatch in a press release. “Solar is becoming competitive with traditional electrical power sources.

“The systems that Energy Optimism provides and installs for our customers often see an 8- to 10-year return on their investment, and the solar panels are warranted for 25 years.

“It really is a very sound investment, both economic and environmental,” Hatch added, citing that homeowners, farms, businesses and non-profits can benefit from financial incentives offered by federal and state programs,

The company offers a free estimate service, comparing a customer’s current utility costs and need with what can be saved by going solar.

Energy Optimism’s office is located at 217 S. Main St., Columbiana.

The phone number is 234-320-0986.
