Muddy waters

Morning Journal/Jo Ann Bobby-Gilbert

New Waterford village employees took advantage of warmer temperatures to work on removing silt from the bottom of the pond at the local park. While Jason Gorby used machinery to remove buckets of silt, Chad Hess made sure fish were not caught up in it or left in shallow waters. Piles of the liquid sludge will be allowed to dry and then disposed of according to environmental regulations, according to Hess.
