BWD trustees pleased with clean audit
WELLSVILLE — The Buckeye Water District has received a clean bill of health on its latest audit.
Trustee Robert Wines reported at Thursday’s board meeting the district’s 2016 audit, done by the state, indicated no citations or recommendations.
Fiscal officer Tony D’Angelo commended the district’s office staff and manager Gregg Stanley, and cited the staff’s teamwork and dedication to the success from the audit. He also thanked road foreman Marcus Dalrymple, superintendent Todd Brown and district manager Al DeAngelis for their assistance throughout the district.
“I think Connie, Amber, Gregg out front handle about 48,000 payments a year,” D’Angelo said. “I also wanted to comment on Marcus, Todd and Al. When we need to do something and we need to buy something, we do it as a team. This whole organization works as a team, and that’s why you got no recommendations and no citations.”
“And that’s why we operate so well,” Wines added.
As for finances, trustees reviewed and approved the September treasurer’s report, which showed revenue of $283,977 and expenses of $211,106.
Only one loan payment remains on the payment schedule after a $750,000 payment was made Oct. 1 on the loan for the water treatment plant. A $12,500 payment is due Dec. 1 for the state Route 45 waterline extension.
