St. Clair police planning night for the entire family

CALCUTTA – A host of activities will be offered at a free community safety, fitness and movie night starting at 6 p.m. Saturday at Calcutta Square, sponsored by the St. Clair Township Patrolman’s Association.

In what the association expects to become an annual event, local residents will be able to watch demonstrations by local K-9 units.

Patrolman Scott Mick will offer a program in self defense.

Zumba fitness exercise and other fitness programs will also be offered by Jake Hunter of The Boiler Room.

Local fire, police and rescue agencies will have vehicles to view and personnel to speak with visitors.

The evening will culminate in a showing of the family movie, “The Nut Job.”

Activities will be held on the lawn at Calcutta Square, and guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for seating.

Parents are asked by the Patrolman’s Association to not drop off their children at the event but to accompany and share the activities with them.
