Probe continues into death of Calcutta man

CALCUTTA – The body discovered Saturday morning on Grimm’s Bridge Road by a passerby was that of 38-year-old Cannons Mill Road resident Joseph Robinson, according to a release Monday from St. Clair Township police.

Officers were called to the scene just before 7:30 a.m. where they found Robinson lying off the south side of the road near a pile of brush.

In addition to township detectives, a reconstructionist from the highway patrol, an investigator with the county coroner’s office, members of the Ohio Bureau of Identification and Investigation and Tri-County Ambulance responded to the scene.

The investigation has shown no sign of trauma to the body, according to police, who are interviewing known associates of Robinson and following up on leads.

Police are asking anyone who may have had contact with Robinson between Aug. 28 through the morning of Aug. 30 to contact the department at 330-386-3585, ext. 109.

A call to township Chief Don Hyatt for additional information had not been returned as of Monday evening.
