Police search for missing Wellsville man

WELLSVILLE – Authorities are searching for a village man who has been missing since late last week.

Despite numerous attempts Monday, officers with the village police department did not provide any information. It was the dispatcher, around 8 p.m. , who finally did confirm the man missing as Zane Carter.

According to Steubenville television station WTOV Channel 9, via information reportedly received from Wellsville police, Carter, 24, was last seen Friday in the village.

According to those reports, Carter is described as a 6-foot-5, 215-pound black man with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen, the report says, between 6-7 p.m. Friday near 14th Street.

A prayer vigil for Carter was held last night at the village gazebo, that according to social media accounts.
