Dogs join search for Carter

WELLSVILLE – Wellsville police are continuing their search for missing village resident Zane Carter with the help of tracking dogs.

The Wellsville Police Department’s K-9 unit and another unit were deployed on Thursday, searching in the area of Yellow Creek Township and elsewhere, police Lt. Ed Wilson said.

“We’ve been looking for him diligently. We’ve got a lot of guys out there,” Wilson said. “We’re making headway.”

Carter, 24, of Maple Avenue, was last seen between 6 and 7 p.m. Aug. 8 near 14th Street.

He is described as a black male, 6 feet 5 inches tall, with black hair and brown eyes, weighing 215 pounds.

There is a $1,000 reward being offered for information leading to the whereabouts of Carter. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 330-532-1522.
