Man pleads guilty to sex with minor

LISBON – James M. Houshour II, the now-21-year-old Salem man accused of having sex with a teenager in 2012, pleaded guilty in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court on Friday to four counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

According to court documents, Houshour, who was 19 at the time, had sex with the same teenage girl four times in either late June or during the month of July in 2012. The girl was 13 years old when the alleged crimes began, although she turned 14 during the month of July that year. The charges note Houshour knew the girl was between 13 and 16 years old at the time of the crimes.

Three of the sexual acts reportedly happened at a location on East Washington Street in Lisbon, while the fourth occurred in the Columbiana County Fairgrounds.

Each count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor carries a possible maximum sentence of 18 months in prison for a total possible sentence of six years, according to Assistant County Prosecutor Timothy McNicol.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 12. Houshour remains in custody at the Columbiana County Jail.
