Fire destroys rural residence

LISBON – A fire of unknown origin destroyed the Faloba residence on Trinity Church Road in Center Township early Wednesday morning.

The residence is located south of Lisbon-Dungannon Road. Lisbon Fire Chief David Lewton said three family members reside there, two of whom were currently incarcerated in the county jail. The third resident was not home at the time.

The blaze was called in at 6:54 a.m. by a passing motorist, and the Lisbon Fire Department responded with seven firefighters. The Hanover Township department provided mutual aid.

Lewton said the single-story wood-frame home was fully engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived at the scene. He did not know if the home was insured.

They returned to the station by 10:30 a.m.
