Christmas arrives for the pets

The Wellsville Animal Advocacy Group will hold its annual Christmas for the Animals beginning at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the gazebo on Main Street in Wellsville. Free toys, animal bedding, treats and food for pets will be given away. Pet photos with Santa Claus are $3.

Senior health fair planned

North Star Critical Care will host a Seniors Health and Wellness Fair from 8 a.. to noon Saturday Lisbon high school cafeteria. Representatives from local hospitals, rehabilitation centers, visiting nurses, grief counseling, hospice care, life flight and county elderly assistance agencies will be available to answer questions and concerns. Marketplace assistance available

A certified application counselor from the county Community Action Agency will be at the East Palestine Library from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday to conduct an informational session about obtaining affordable health insurance through the Marketplace Exchange. The representative will be available to assist patrons with the application and enrollment process. For more information, call the library, 330-426-3778.

Quakertown tours rescheduled

With the cancellation of the Christmas “Light Up Night” and the scheduled trolley tour of lights due to the weather, the Salem Historical Society has rescheduled the tour for Wednesday. Tours last about 35 minutes and will begin at 6, 6:45 and 7:30 p.m. Featured in the driving tour will be the winners of the Fabulous Five Festive Lights. Other drive-bys sites will be included. Reservations are encouraged but, if space available,walk-ups would be welcome. Loading will be at the Chamber of Commerce parking lot on East State. The cost is $2 for adults and $1 for children. SHS students collecting coats

The Salem High School Key Club will be collecting gently worn coats through Friday. Donations may be dropped off at Manhattan Dry Cleaners on State Street, Salem from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. All donations will be cleaned at no charge by Manhattan Cleaners and donated to the Salem Salvation Army.

PJs, stories and Santa at library

A Christmas Pajama Storytime will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the East Palestine Memorial Public Library. Children are invited to wear their pajamas and to bring a stuffed animal. The program will feature stories, music and a visit from Santa. For more information , call 330-426-3778.
