Body found at Beaver Creek State Park

EAST LIVERPOOL – Law enforcement officers have been at Beaver Creek State Park since about 12:30 p.m. investigating a body found at picnic area No.1.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported about 3:30 pm that the incident was an apparent suicide.
Columbiana County coroner’s office investigator Brandi Phillips is currently on the scene as well as investigators from the OSP.
St. Clair Township police received and responded to the initial call, leading to response from the OSP.
Park manager Karl Mattern’s had picnic area No. 1 blocked to traffic, and investigators were gathered about a quarter mile past the main parking lot near a cul-de-sac.
A helicopter was brought to the scene with a photographic investigation team and after flying over the area several times, landed at the nearby soccer field.
