Airport Authority to use federal grant to pave runway
LISBON – A federal grant awarded to the Columbiana County Airport will be used to resurface a taxiway.
U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown’s office announced last week the Federal Aviation Administration had approved the Airport Authority’s application for a $41,082 grant.
Airport Authority Chairman Mike Diloreto said the money will be used to repave a taxiway that was deemed in need of resurfacing under an FAA infrastructure rating system. The Airport Authority is required to provide a 10 percent match, or $4,564.
“This is just part of our ongoing maintenance,” he said of the project.
