Two face charges after EP sweep

EAST PALESTINE – Two high school students are facing drug-related charges following a police investigation at the school on Thursday.

A press release from Police Chief Kevin Dickey said one student was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and another drug paraphernalia after police and K9 Toney searched vehicles in the school’s parking lot.

“The police department and school district officials maintain a close working relationship, and today’s search was the result of a combined proactive effort between the two organizations and is part of the police department’s ongoing citywide zero tolerance policy on illegal drugs,” Dickey said.

He also said random, unannounced car and/or locker searches can be expected in the future.
