Route 9 accident

Firefighters and KLG ambulance personnel work at extricating Joann Zarlinga of state Route 644, Hanoverton. According to Ohio Highway Patrol Sgt. Craig Monte, preliminary reports indicate Zarlinga and her daughter were northbound in their Scion on state Route 9, when Zarlinga lost control and crossed over the center line spinning out in front of a southbound pickup pulling a horse trailer. The male driver of the pickup was not hurt. Zarlinga was taken by STAT MedEvac to St. Elizabeth’s Health Center in Youngstown and her daughter was transported to Salem Community Hospital by KLG Ambulance. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Joy Bolen.
