LISBON — In County Municipal Court, Brandon Joe Nelder, 36, Shady Lane, Lisbon, was bound over to the grand jury on a charge of felonious assault. Bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety. Nelder waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Monday. He is accused of purposely striking his brother, Walter Nelder, with a vehicle when his brother attempted to stop him from driving away, intoxicated, with two children in the backseat. Pretrial dates are to be set for Nelder on additional charges of OVI first offense, domestic violence and endangering children. A reckless operation charge was dismissed.

An assault charge and a domestic violence charge against Robert J. Kastanek, 35, North Madison Avenue, Salem, were each dismissed due to evidentiary problems, but may be refiled. Kastanek was charged after assaulting Mason Jones in the county jail on June 2 and Heidi Hostetter, his live-in girlfriend, in November.

A July 25 pretrial was set for Augustina Newman, 46, 10th Street Extension, Wellsville, charged with assault and criminal damaging for allegedly striking Dan Wallace in the face with his fists and a mason jar, as well as destroying a painting and breaking a neon clock on his property.

Dustin T. Whaley, 24, West Chestnut Street, Lisbon, was fined $1,000 and required 25 hours community service for driving under suspension and failure to dim lights.

A July 22 pretrial was set for Dkwan M. Wise, 23, 16 School Road, Wellsville, charged with fleeing and eluding for allegedly refusing to stop in a Chrysler 300, speeding through intersections and at high speeds until he crashed into a business on Main Street between Eighth Street and Ninth Street. The vehicle belonged to Samantha Jones, who said Wise, who is also know as Dae Dae, took the keys while she was in the shower.

A July 22 pretrial was set for Robert E. Burge, 54, North Ellsworth Avenue, Salem, cited with possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly having a metal spoon with residue, a folded tin foil in the same pocket and two items which appeared for use as a makeshift crack pipe.

Kimberly S. Jackson, 34, Glasgow Road, Wellsville, was fined $250, credited with a day in jail, sentenced to an additional five days in jail and required 40 hours community service for driving under suspension and obstructing official business for providing a false name, date of birth and social security number, her sister’s information, to police during a traffic stop on April 2.

Nicole L. Boring, 29, Akron, was fined $150 and required 25 hours community service for driving under suspension and improper/expired registration.

Laura M. Scott, 30, South Street, Homeworth, was fined $150 for lighted lights required amended from speeding.

Dakota K. Frank, 24, McCormick Run Road, Salineville, was fined $100 for ATV on roadway and speeding.
