LISBON — In Common Pleas Court, Tiffany B. Michalak, 38, Boardman, pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence, possession of drugs and illegal conveyance of a drug of abuse onto the grounds of a detention facility. She was placed on four years community control and fined $5,000. On July 5, 2017, Michalak had tried to conceal a clear baggie containing an unknown substance, had methamphetamines and attempted to bring them into the county jail. Another charge of possession of drugs for having methamphetamines on July 3, 2017 was dismissed.
Marcus A. Ford, 22, West Main Street, Salineville, pleaded guilty to one count of trafficking in counterfeit controlled substances for selling about 1.01 grams of what he told a confidential informant was heroin for $150. Ford requested immediate sentencing and was sentenced to six months in prison. Two other counts of trafficking in counterfeit substances were dismissed.
Alex E. Farnsworth, 26, pleaded guilty to assault, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was sentence to three years community control, including 80 hours community service and a $500 fine. On Oct. 11, while an inmate in the county jail, Farnsworth should-checked and pushed a corrections officer, while trying to get past him to break a cell phone discovered during an inmate search.
Laura A. Nurmi, 36, Chester, W.Va., pleaded guilty to possession of drugs and was placed on a three-year intervention treatment plan. Nurmi had .10 grams of carfentanil in her purse on Dec. 24, 2017.
