LISBON — Kevin E. Kirby, 44, North Market Street, Lisbon, was sentenced to nine months in prison and ordered to pay restitution to the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation in the amount of $26,222 once he is released from prison. Kirby had pleaded guilty in February to workers compensation fraud, theft and 11 counts of tampering with records. Beginning on Dec. 1, 2016 and continuing through Nov. 20, 2017, Kirby had received about $10,338 in temporary total disability benefits through the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, while he was also receiving cash payments for unreported employment through Harter’s Tree Service in Lisbon. He falsified 11 requests for the compensation benefits, claiming a fraudulent need for the disability benefits.
Brian Keith French, North Walnut Avenue, Alliance, was placed on community control for three years, including 30 days at the county jail for possession of drugs. French was trying to hide 4.16 grams of methamphetamines in the backseat of a vehicle he was riding in on Aug. 19, 2017.
Josie M. McKinley, 25, Saltwell Road, Lisbon, stipulated to violating the terms of her community control for a previous possession of drugs for oxycodone conviction. McKinley will continue on community control, but it will now include serving up to six months at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center.
Michael J. Mick, North Walnut Street, East Palestine, stipulated to violating the terms of his community control and was ordered to remain on community control until October 2022 for a previous theft conviction for taking a 2001 Chevy Cavalier belonging to Jacob Fox in September 2017.
