LISBON — In Columbiana County Common Pleas Court, D’Joure’ C. Hawkins, 18, South Street, Alliance, was placed on four years community control for attempted burglary. In the early morning hours of March 13, Hawkins opened the kitchen window of the home of Nicholas and Katherine Tubbs in the attempt to gain entry and he was later found hiding in the nearby garage of Quinten Fortner.
Steven R. Smith Jr., 27, Baum Street, East Liverpool, was placed on four years community control for domestic violence. In June of 2017, Smith reportedly grabbed his spouse by the neck, choked her and slammed her head against a kitchen appliance.
Charlene M. Peace, 29, Canfield, was found eligible for intervention in lieu of conviction and was placed on a four year intervention plan. Peace had pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of drugs for having heroin and fentanyl on Nov. 14, 2016.
Dominick T. Davidson, 21, Akron, was placed on three years community control, which included 14 days in the county jail for possession of drugs with a forfeiture specification. On July 13, 2017, Davidson had 7.98 grams of cocaine in East Liverpool.
Ashley Irvin, 28, Depot Street, Rogers, stipulated to violating her probation on a 2014 trafficking in drugs case and was sentenced to an indefinite term at the Eastern Ohio Correctional Center.
Marci M. Kirkpatrick, 33, Washington Street, Leetonia, stipulated to violating the terms of her community control for a 2017 tampering with evidence conviction. Kirkpatrick will have her community control continue, but she will now be spending up to six months at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center.
Kathryn A. Sims, 29, West 14th Street, Salem, was sentenced to three years community control to include up to six months at the EOCC for possession of drugs. Sims was also sentenced to six months in prison for a receiving stolen property charge, but was credited with 220 days already served in the case. The possession of drugs charge was for five grams of cocaine on Sept. 18, 2016 and the receiving stolen property charge was for having a check belonging to Terri Sims from an account at Farmers National Bank on Nov. 23, 2017.
Leonard B. Coursin, 67, Henry Avenue, East Liverpool, was placed on three years community control, which will include a 15-day jail sentence for possession of drugs for having cocaine in May of 2017.
