LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, John Yerkey, 44, Middletown Road, Salem, was bound over to the grand jury on two charges of violating a protection order.

According to the charges, on Aug. 7, Jamie Dattilio, the person with a protection order against Yerkey, allegedly received a notification alert from the app Find Friends that stated Yerkey was sharing his location with her. On July 31, Dattillio reported she allegedly found Yerkey driving on Hawkins Lane at Cimmaron, which is where her home is located.

Court documents indicate Yerkey has a 2016 conviction for violating a protection order, which causes these charges to become felonies. Judge Mark Frost set Yerkey’s bond at $100,000 cash or surety and he was ordered to attend mental health counseling. Additionally, his bond conditions state he is not to be found in Fairfield Township, he is to avoid violating all protection orders and before he is released he is to begin wearing a GPS location device.

Keith H. Thomas, 46, Courtney Road, Alliance, was fined $100, required 40 hours community service, credited with a day served and given an additional six days in jail for resisting arrest and obstructing official business. On Oct. 14, 2017, Thomas intoxicated, was walking on South Ellsworth in Salem and started to stumble into the roadway, and refused to stop after police told him several times to do so.
